An unusual photo of us together! This was our last night in New Orleans, we blew the budget and went to a nice restaurant with a beautiful courtyard and as it was still about 85 F at 11pm it was a pleasure to sit outside.
On the road maintenance, tyre pressures fluctuate wildly in this heat causing the tyre tread to crack.
We spent 3 nights in Austin, it’s the capitol city of Texas and has some great museums, galleries and buildings. Like New Orleans it has a huge music scene and we could have spent a few weeks and not got round all the music venues. We were lucky enough to get to see Butch Hancock at the Cactus CafĂ©, he is an artist we have both liked for a long time (thanks to Marek).
However not all the music in Austin was good, it was hard to get a hotel room as the auditions for America’s Got Talent were in town! We met several young hopefuls in our hotel (bless them!)
Not quite a knotted hankerchief. John at the lake near Robert Lee avoiding the midday sun like a true Brit.
Wildcat RV park, Robert Lee, Texas. This was a great place to relax for a few days, deer and wild turkeys wondered through in the evening. Apparently rattle snakes and tarantulas are also seen but luckily not by us!
Looks wonderful, enjoying looking at your blog.
